Support our Guild – Buy a Trillium!

two hand built plates in the shape of white trilliums with green leaves

Expanding on the Kawartha Potters Guild successful tribute to the Vimy Ridge Trillium project, the Guild is delighted to announce a Fundraising Campaign featuring our Ontario Trillium. These beautifully crafted bowls and plates, by local potters, are available for sale at $29.00 each. These Trilliums are functional and food safe dinner ware, making wonderful gifts: for housewarmings, visitors, showers or just a keepsake for yourself.

The fundraising efforts will assist the Guild to continue offering classes to the public, allow our members to grow as artists, and the Pottery Shop to offer locally made gifts.  Shop Local, Support Local during this difficult time in our history.

To order, please contact our Administrator and make sure to include TRILLIUM in the subject line.  Please indicate whether you wish a plate or a bowl (and how many).  You will be contacted via email when items are ready for pick up and you will have the opportunity to choose the perfect one (s) for you.  Pay via Visa/MC or cash/cheque once you choose your own individual Trilliums.

Gift Certificates for Mother’s Day!

Of course, due to Covid19, we are not currently open.  However, we do have Gift Certificates available which helps support your local potters and the Kawartha Potters Guild.  For Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Birthdays, Weddings, Just Because.  Our Gift Certificates have no expiry date and can be used for any item or service we sell; from wonderful handmade items from our local potters, classes (including private classes for birthdays, weddings or other events), materials and memberships.  Anyone wishing to purchase a gift certificate can send an email to our Administrator, Donna,  with details and she will arrange payment options and delivery of your Gift Certificate.  We hope that we can return to what we love as soon as possible, and we look forward to seeing you then.  Stay safe.

Support KPG with Gift Certificates!

The KPG is a not-for-profit organization run mainly by volunteers.  With the onset of Covid19, like many other small businesses, we have had to close our doors to not only our customers, but our students, staff, teachers and members.  Our over head costs, while being negotiated in these uncertain times, are still pending, while income has stopped.  For many of our member potters with work in our Store, they too have lost much of their income or ability to produce their art.

Therefore, we would like to remind all our supporters that we have gift certificates.  We can fill these to any amount with no expiry date.  Our gift certificates apply to everything from purchases at our beautifully curated Pottery Shop, to classes, camps, workshops, mentorships and memberships.  Purchase of these gift certificates can be arranged by contacting our Administrator, Donna.  She can arrange for over the phone or etransfer payments, and will arrange to have these certificates delivered to you.  We offer these now with the hopes that we will soon be open again, meeting with all of you and playing with clay.

KPG Covid19 Closure – Update April 6, 2020

Kawartha Potters' Guild logo

We hope everyone is staying home and staying safe.  The Guild has unfortunately, been shut down since mid-March due to Covid19.  We remind all staff, members, teachers, studio-members, that there is to be no access or use of the facility during this time, in order to comply with Provincial and Federal regulations.  We have also decided to suspend all classes until the end of June, so all online registrations have been closed at this time.

We realize, for those who’s classes were interrupted, or were hoping for a special upcoming workshop, that this is a great disappointment.  Pottery is, ironically, an excellent method of relaxing, and in these trying times, we are also very sad that we are not able to offer that balm to our members and students.

We are a not-for-profit organization who relies on our volunteers, our classes, our patrons and grants to function.  This time will be a challenge for our organization and we ask for your patience as we work our way through this and as things begin to return to whatever our new normal will be.  Should you have questions regarding future classes, refunds, exchanges, etc, please contact our Administrator, Donna.

Covid19 – Update March 24

Kawartha Potters' Guild logo

Further to Premier Fords announcement this afternoon, please be advised the KPG will be closed to ALL visitors, members, Studio Members, Teachers and staff, effective 5:00pm today, Tuesday March 24th.  It is very important that all members abide by this, as we could face stiff fees for appearing open.  This breaks all our hearts as a not-for-profit is only as successful as the participation by it’s members, and for us, our classes, shop and community events.  We do not know how long this will last, and will update you more as we can.

For those of you in the midst of classes, or have private classes booked and paid for, we ask for your patience during this time.  If you have questions regarding classes, please contact our Administrator, Donna.

We thank all of you in advance for your understanding and we hope that all of you stay safe and healthy during these unusual times.

KPG Covid19 Closure – March 16

Kawartha Potters' Guild logo

To all Guild Members, Students, Teachers & Customers

We have made the very difficult decision to close the Guild at this time. This includes the Pottery Shop and all classes.

For those taking classes with us, we normally have a 2 week break in between sessions.  We are taking advantage of this to suspend all of our classes  (including any private classes) as of now, for the next 2 weeks, while we wait for this very fluid situation to progress.  Again, should this affect your ability to attend the classes on the revised dates, we will do our best to accommodate you on future dates in your registered or other classes to make up the missed time.

We will be updating this decision as recommended by our Public Health and Government regulations and requirements.

As a not-for-profit organization, we ask for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Should you have any questions, concerns or suggestions in this regard, please do not hesitate to contact our Administrator, Donna at 705-742-4979 or by email.
