We are very pleased to have Teresa join us for a demonstration workshop on Sunday May 24th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The workshop is $101.70 (inc. HST), maximum attendance is 15 people. Please bring your own lunch or snacks.
The presentation will begin with demonstrations on how the wheel can be used to create forms that can then be used as molds for creating handles, feet, bases and other elements that are ﬁlled with volume and gesture. Teresa will demonstrate the steps to making several multi piece forms; altered bowls with rims, baskets, ﬂower bricks, lidded bottles or casseroles. She will show a number of ways for making strong attractive handles and other ﬁnishing touches and will also have some pieces ready to assemble to be able to illustrate the work made from beginning to end. Throughout the demonstration Teresa will oﬀer ideas and tips for successful making.
Teresa Dunlop is a maker of function and sculptural ceramics most of which begin on the wheel and are then assembled and altered. Often wood ﬁred, these objects entice the user to experience them though touch as well as sight. Using teaching skills developed during her 32 year career as a teacher, Teresa delights in providing workshops ﬁlled with tips and techniques that are easily translated to each participants personal practice. Teresa is a graduate of Sheridan College Craft and Design Program. From 2014-2017 she was an Artist in Residence in the Ceramic Studio at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto. She now has her own studio in Newmarket On.
No refund will be given if notice of withdrawal is not received at least 10 days in advance of the start date. All refunds are subject to an administration fee of 20%. Any refund can be transferred to another class or purchase of items in the Pottery Shop (via a gift certificate) at full value.
