6 Week Hand Building – Mon Eve – Alexandra – Jan/Feb
January 6, 2025 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
$412.45This 6 week session focuses on hand building, including pinch pots, slab building, and coil building methods. Students will complete five distinct projects spanning across hand-building techniques that will be demonstrated by their instructor, Alexandra which will set the students up for success. With an emphasis on creative risk-taking, students will create ceramic objects through slab making, pinch pots, and other exciting methods including coil building! These projects range from pinch pots, coil-built planter pots, slab-built plates, and more. Drawing will be highly encouraged as a strategy for planning out their work each week; including planning surface design and glazing. Students should expect learning outcomes of knowing the basic principles of hand building, a broadened understanding of clay as a medium, confidence scaling up building projects, confidence across the three main building methods, and objects to welcome into their homes. This class suits first-time students and those who consider themselves new to clay.
It runs Monday evenings from January 6 – February 10, 2025, 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.. Cost is $412.45 (tax included) per person. This includes a materials fee of $33.90 inc tax.
