SUMMARY:Cake Stand Handbuilding Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn handbuilding techniques to create your own beautiful cake platter. \nYou’ll shape your piece from clay\, then explore a variety of texture tools to add surface details and make it uniquely yours. After decorating\, you’ll choose a clear or coloured glaze for a smooth\, food-safe finish. \nYour finished platter will be kiln-fired and ready for pickup about three weeks after the workshop. The perfect handmade piece for serving (or showing off) your baking!  \nPlease note: the cake platter you create may differ from the one pictured — each piece is uniquely yours. \nDon’t miss out—register today to secure your spot to play with clay! \nThis one off class runs Sunday morning 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Cost is $73.45 (tax included) per person.  This includes all materials\, finishing and firing. \nRefund Policy: \nNo refund will be given if notice of withdrawal is not received at least 10 days in advance of the start date. All refunds are subject to an administration fee of 20%. SUMMARY:Clay Play on the Wheel: One Day Potter’s Wheel Experience
DESCRIPTION:Learn to throw down some pottery at our one day wheel class! You’ll dive right into the basics of the pottery wheel and come away with your new favourite bowl\, cup\, or vase. This will be a very hands on class so come prepared for a bit of mud and allot of fun! All materials and tools will be provided. We will trim your pieces\, gaze\, and fire them to be picked up 3-4 weeks after your class. This class in intended for adults\, teens aged 14+ are welcome if accompanied. \n• 7 students max- for hands on personalized instruction \n• learn to center\, open\, pull walls to make simple shapes like bowls/cups \n• keep 2-3 finished pieces (you choose glaze colour) \n• Small fee to keep more pieces as Kristina will have to trim and glaze\, $5 per piece \nSaturday February 14th 1:00pm + Saturday March 14th 1pm\n$85/person + HST  \nLove the experience? SUMMARY:Introductory Sgraffito Workshop with Cathy Allen- March 15th
DESCRIPTION:Ready to take your surface decoration to a new level?! \nIn this full day sgraffito introductory workshop\, you will begin with learning the basics of slip making using clay body and stain\, followed by slip and underglaze application on your pieces. Black slip will be provided. \nWe will go into some detail with some easy image transfer techniques too (including use of stencils and making your own). Various carving tools can be used for sgraffito techniques too\, and those will be covered as well. \nThis session will include elements and tips that go into making a successful design before you start carving your pieces. Students will explore sgraffito techniques using both slips and underglazes on some test pieces before diving in.
