I’ve loved making pots since my first introduction to clay in the late 1970s. While my children were young, I worked in my home studio, selling pieces on commission, by special order and in craft sales, and giving children’s pottery workshops and lessons. Now, after a happy career teaching elementary school in Peterborough, I feel fortunate to return to pottery!
Producing mid-fire porcelain and stoneware functional ware, I use a range of glazes that I make from scratch. Many of my porcelain pieces are finished with a clear glaze over brushwork, to highlight the contrast of blue against white. My designs are modelled on nature: grasses, flowers from the garden, and pine trees.
