We’re on TV!

Check out CHEX TV on Monday May 6th at 5pm for the visit to our studio.  Rita Nave and cameraman Kevin Wheeler came to the guild this morning at 9am and had a go at throwing a pot, and looked around our studio and the gallery.  What good sports they were!

Here are a couple of images of June giving a throwing lesson.

Two new courses coming soon…

We are going to be introducing two new courses in the near future.  “Slip Decoration” with George Stewart and “Throwing” with Darlene Malcolm-Moran.  And if you have seen the beautiful work by both of these potters, you will want to be part of these courses!

More information as soon as the dates are firmed up.

Family Clay Time Fun at KPG – Feb 18

It was a crowded and fun day at the Kawartha Potters Guild on February 18th this year.  We had 23 people signed up to come to our class to make creatures, and what a lovely bunch of creatures they made!  It is a good time to stress that you must PreRegister for a class ahead of time to avoid disappointment.  We will not hold any spaces for people who have not registered and paid ahead of time.

Thanks to all who came out, better be quick and sign up now for our next class!

Heritage Day at Buckhorn Community Centre

What a great day we all had at the Buckhorn Community Centre (also known as the BCC) on Saturday February 16th.

It was advertised as a “fun day for the whole family with rides, displays, entertainment and food. A fund raiser for the Buckhorn Community Sports Complex. Come kick-off Ontario Heritage Week with a great day of fun !!!” and it was that and more.  We went with our wheel and had kids lined up to have a turn with our teachers George Stewart and June Goodwin.  We all fell in love with Ben, who may well have a future as a potter!

February 11th meeting

We have our February meeting coming up on the 11th.  We will have our Guru of Glazes, George Stewart talking about glaze chemistry.  We will also be glazing the mugs that we made last month.  Lot’s to talk about and friends to meet.  See you there!
