Kind Words

We have a ballot each year and ask if people want to be on our mailing list (some do, no pressure) and if they have any comments.

We thought we would share a small sampling of comments as they were very nice this year.

“Starts off my Christmas”

“Yearly Pilgrimage”

“Wonderful Stuff”

“Miss your Spring Show”

“Great Variety”

“Super, mega, awesome”

“Amazing items, so hard to choose, I want one of everything!”

“I visit every year for unique, local gifts”

Thank you to everyone who visited and who has supported us in our move to our permanent location.

Open House a Fun Event

What a busy few months the Kawartha Potters Guild has had.  We have moved an entire shop (George Stewart’s Jackson Creek Pottery) to our new location.  Set it up again with fabulous studio space and gallery.  Had two Family Clay Days and numerous other classes.  Held our annual Christmas Show and Sale and just had our Meet and Greet Open House to introduce ourselves to the neighbourhood.

It was a fun and busy few hours and we thank everyone who came out.  If you are looking for a last minute gift for the special someone who loves hand made gifts made not only in Canada, but in the Peterborough and Kawartha areas, come to our gallery and look around.

Merry Christmas!

Our Illustrious Leader

Lee-Ann Choquette
Lee-Ann Choquette, co-ordinated the sale this year, with a lot of help from her fellow guild members.

Thank you to Lee-Ann Choquette for leading us to the conclusion of another successful sale.  It takes a lot of people to put our annual sale together, and we know that Lee-Ann didn’t do it all herself, but she took over the job when it isn’t an easy one, and got everyone working hard.

Thanks to everyone in the guild who worked really hard this year, and thank you to the public, who come out and support us whatever the weather.  We really appreciate it.

Thanks to the media that come and take pictures, Twitter accounts that spread the word and all our Facebook friends!

We now get a brief breather and then gear up for our open house at 993 Talwood Drive on December 14th, from 4pm – 9pm!  We hope to see you there.  Here are a few of the articles that were in the paper in the lead up to our sale.

Art: Kawartha Potters Guild Christmas Show & Sale continues

George Stewart’s Studio is set up!

George has been working so hard for the Kawartha Potters’ Guild that he hasn’t been able to throw for at least two months (maybe more).  His fans have been missing him. But today he made great progress and has revealed some great photos on his Facebook page, which the Kawartha Potters’ guild follows.

Zen and the art of Pottery

Who wouldn’t be able to throw with this lovely setting?

We’ve added Pinterest links

If you see anything on our site that you would like to remember for later, you can now pin it directly from the images!  Hover your mouse over an image and if you want to pin it to a board, click on the Pinterest symbol and it will take you to your own Pinterest account.  As easy as that!

Consider following us on Pinterest too, as we will be following other potters we find around the globe!  Happy pinning!

Hurly Burly is playing at our Christmas Show Opening Night!

We are very happy to announce that the ensemble, Hurly Burly will be playing for your listening pleasure on November 30th.  They will do two sets from 7pm – 7:30, and then again from 7:45pm – 8:15.

Our very own Karina Bates is one of the members of this group and we look forward to hearing them play.
