Covid-19 Update – January 5, 2022

Kawartha Potters' Guild logo

The Provincial Government announced new Covid restrictions effective Jan 5th for 21 days; we are back to a modified Stage 2 which means KPG will be closed for all in-person activity.

The classes slated to start the week of January 10th have been postponed to the week of January 24th.

We can keep the Gallery Shop open for retail therapy, with a maximum of 3 people in the facility at a time (not including staff/volunteer), with 6’ distancing, full mask and sanitizing on entry.

Members can do drop off and pick ups, purchase clay, tools, etc., however, we ask them to call or email to confirm date and time to ensure we don’t exceed our numbers. We will have either Kristina, Donna or Noreen at the Guild Tues – Fri from 1-5 for customers to shop and members to do their drops/pick ups.

If you have any questions, please contact Donna directly.

Happy Holidays and Thank You

Another year will soon be behind us, and we would like to extend our most grateful thanks to each and every one of our customers, Volunteers, Students and friends of KPG.

This year has been full of new and sometimes unexpected challenges. Folks at KPG have been working their socks off to get your orders out of the door, Students work finished and providing services for our members.

The Guild is now closed until January 2022.

We are so appreciative of your support and understanding of the difficulties we have all had to face and wish everyone a peaceful holiday and a healthy New Year.  Stay safe.

Celebrate Ceramics Fundraiser

Kawartha Potters' Guild logo

Tickets for Celebrate Ceramics, KPG’s fundraiser, will be available during our Holiday Show & Sale.  This is the perfect gift for those hard to buy for folks, or as a thank you gift for that special person on your Christmas shopping list. What a great chance for you to offer someone a one-of-a-kind gift while supporting the KPG!

What is Celebrate Ceramics you ask?  In support of fostering, educating, and promoting ceramic arts and artists, the Kawartha Potters Guild is holding a fundraiser on Friday April 8, 2022.  Each Event Ticket holder, when their number is randomly drawn, will be able to choose a pottery item to take home with them. If you want to bring a friend or partner along with you, Guest Tickets are available.   This is a great gift idea while supporting the local ceramic arts community.

Tickets are $75 (guest tickets are $25) which entitles the ticket holder to a beautiful piece of pottery of their choice, complimentary wine and appetizers, live music and an evening of fun and entertainment! Celebrate Ceramics is on Friday April 8, 2022 at the Lions Club on Burnham St. in Peterborough.

Kawartha Potters Guild Annual Holiday Sale!

Are you ready?  Our annual Holiday show and sale is back!  With many of our regulars and a few new faces, you can continue your holiday tradition (or start a new one) by visiting us between December 14 – 23.  We will be open Monday – Friday from Noon – 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

As with last year, we are giving you the opportunity to book a minimum of a half hour time slot (you can stay longer, just make another booking) to shop in a relaxed and uncrowded atmosphere.  You can certainly take the chance and drop by.  If we are not full, we can let you in (or advise when you can return).  You can book your appointment (s) here.

We are taking donations of socks for local charities if you wish to drop a pair by when you visit.  We will also be selling tickets to our Celebrate Ceramics Fundraiser, scheduled for April 2022.  More about this event in a future post – watch this space!

Donation Thanks!

Kawartha Potters Guild would like to thank Mr. Glen Wright, a new member of KPG, for his generous gift of money to be used towards our new computer system. This was given in recognition of Karina Bates’ contribution to KPG and teaching.
