Our annual Holiday Sale begins tomorrow (Friday Nov 24) at 10am! We have 20 members participating including 5 newer members who have never been in the sale before. The studio looks fabulous with all the colours and lights and we are so looking forward to seeing you this weekend!
Lillian joined a friend for a pottery class and was totally hooked on clay. She is essentially self-taught and works exclusively in porcelain. She enjoys carving designs into the clay and the way her glazes enhance the pure white surface of porcelain. While her focus is on functional pieces, she takes time to try something whimsical.
Joining a neighbour at a pottery class has led Lillian to a lifetime love of clay. She works only with porcelain clay after taking a week-long workshop with renown ceramic artist Harlan House. Lillian enjoys the colours achieved by using a white clay. Adding a little texture or some carving picks up surface details when her work is glazed. It is always fun opening up the kiln. Enjoy.
Lillian also plays a vital role, as a volunteer and key founder of the guild. In 2018 she was recognized with a Lifetime Honorary Membership award.
Our sale runs every day until December 23rd. Book a time to visit us here, or take your chances at the door (space is limited so we reserve the right to refuse entry until space is available).

Lillian Forester is famous for her cheese mice. The perfect little friends to accompany your cheese tray! These cute little fellows won’t even nibble! Like the rest of us, Lillian is getting ready for the show, and has her kiln loaded and ready to go. Check out her beautiful work, before it is even glazed!
Lillian Forrester has recently heard that she will be included in an upcoming Lark 500 series book.
Lillian made a few pieces last year and submitted them to lark books call for entry. In February 2010, “Overseer” was donated the to the Burlington Art Centre for their annual Art Auction. The photo of the piece was included in the BAC publicity folder, newspaper and web PR and it ultimately sold for $275 at the auction.
Lillian just received notification from Lark, almost a year after submission, that this piece “Overseer” had been accepted. Past presenter to KPG Anne Armstrong has also had a horse hair raku piece accepted.
